FarCry 3 is an open-world first-person shooter set on a lawless tropical archipelago. You play as Jason Brody after a vacation goes wrong, fighting to rescue your friends while navigating jungles, beaches, and ruins controlled by pirates and mercenaries. Tackle objectives your way: use stealth takedowns, bows and suppressed weapons, or go loud with explosives and vehicles. Hunt wildlife and gather resources to craft better gear, unlock skills to expand your combat and traversal options, and liberate outposts to reclaim territory and open fast travel. The island’s wildlife, weather, and spreading fire create unpredictable encounters, and a separate four-player co-op mode, competitive multiplayer, and a map editor extend the experience beyond the story.
